Expand Your Horizions - Join The Air Cadets...

Seeking a new challenge? Our organization needs high caliber cadets and adult volunteers now!

With roughly 900 squadrons in the UK and Squadrons in Germany, Gibraltar and Cyprus you are likely to be closer to the Air Cadets than you think. This is your chance to join over 35,000 cadets taking part in Air Cadet activities every week.

What did you do last weekend?

Bored? Want a challenge and want to use and develop your leadership skills - and get real qualifications into the bargain? – then read on!

The Air Cadets offers it's cadets opportunities to undertake a wide range of exciting activities including shooting, parachuting, caving, climbing, hill walking and trekking, aero modeling, archery, kayaking and the chance to gain BTEC qualifications just by being a cadet! We try to keep costs as low as possible, with many of the activities provided free for the cadets. Subscription (subs) currently costs around £7.00 per month, payable after enrollment. We even supply you with your uniform.

The Aims of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets are:

  • To promote and encourage among young people a practical interest in aviation and the Royal Air Force.ided free to the cadets.
  • To provide training which will be useful in the Services and civilian life.
  • To foster the spirit of adventure and develop qualities of leadership and good citizenship

The ATC is the largest provider of the Duke Of Edinburgh's Award Scheme (DofE) and perhaps that's not so surprising when you learn that HRH Prince Philip is the Air Training Corps Commodore-in-Chief, taking a keen interest in the organisation and its members. Air Cadets get the opportunity of flying in RAF and commercial aircraft - many progressing to achieve Flying Scholarships and their Private Pilots License (PPL).

Are you an adult seeking a new challenge? We are always keen to welcome new adult volunteers to our ranks - all we ask is a few hours of your time each week. After your initial training and checks to enable you to work with young people we will start to develop your skills, so don't worry that you don't know much about the activities we offer - we just ask you to be keen to learn and to do your best for the cadets at all times. After your initial training more specialized courses become available - these include adventure training, sports, shooting and professional skills.
